Our Drum & Bugle Corps is a marching musical ensemble that consists of brass and percussion sections that rehearses during the winter/spring months and performs during the summer.
The Highland Knights are an independent non-profit youth organization privately funded chartered in Kannapolis, NC with the corps hall based in Charlotte, NC. Our members range in age from 15-21 yrs of age and represent high schools and universities from across the state. As a parade corps, we perform in parades and and concerts across the state. Rehearsals take place at public schools once a month during the winter/spring months becoming more frequently during the summer months. The majority of our performances take place from mid-June to the first week in August. The corps travels on motorcoaches to/from performances during the summer months, housed in hotels and fed during rehearsals and while on tour. Uniforms and instruments are owned by the corps and provided for use throughout the season.
Membership in the Highland Knights is limited to those individuals whom are willing to commit to the high standards required of each member. Marching bands tend to be larger in size but drum corps have limited instrumentation making each position very competitive.
